Doorways and steps
Show the thresholds, steps and driveway edge that a new walk or patio needs to meet.
DuPage County hardscaping
A patio should leave room for the way you actually use the yard. AK's Landscape helps Westmont homeowners plan hardscape improvements, from a welcoming front walk to a place for outdoor meals. Tell us what feels awkward about the current space and what you would like to change.

Paver entry walk from our project gallery.
For an entry walk, look at the full trip from the driveway to the steps. A narrow turn, a door that swings over the landing, or a planting bed close to the path can matter as much as the paving pattern. Photos from both ends help us understand those connections before we visit.
For a backyard patio, mark the table and chairs on the ground and leave space to move around them. Include the grill, the gate and the path back into the house. Working from those everyday movements gives the estimate a clearer purpose than choosing a size from a photograph alone.
We can discuss the existing surface, the work area and access for materials as part of a free estimate. Share any areas that hold water and whether the project would replace a surface or create a new one. Final scope and scheduling depend on the property and the work you choose.
A useful starting point

Include furniture dimensions and the routes you want to keep clear through the yard.
Measure gate openings and flag any stairs or tight side yards between the street and the work area.
Local planning
Westmont publishes a flatwork guide for driveways, patios and walkways. Check the village's current guidance for your project and have a property survey available when discussing the proposed footprint. The village notes that some older guides are being updated, so use its current permitting page for direction.
